THE SANTA CLAUS CARD (PART 3)

5/11/2020

PictureThe Atlanta letter. Click image to enlarge.
In two recent articles [1] [2] we have been attempting to find potential Zodiac Killer communications along the route of California, Texas, Atlanta, Washington and New York, thereby bridging the gap between the March 8th 1981 "Zodiac" Atlanta letter, implying he was killing children, and the Santa Claus card mailed to the family of missing Joan Webster, on or shortly after January 20th 1982.

On March 2nd 1981, a business reply envelope postmarked Cleveland, OH, bearing the press printed address "The Danbury Mint, Richards Avenue, P.O. Box 5260, Norwalk, Conn" was mailed with the message: "Please stop forced bussing or I will kill 3 more black boys in Atlanta in March". On March 18th 1981, the Washington Post received a letter addressed to "Editor of the Washington Post" and claiming to have information on the Atlanta killings, requesting that the editor place an advertisement in the newspaper, stating "Daniel Please Call Home". In the Santa Claus card, mailed circa January 20th 1982, the author typed "Please, where can I write you,?" Three ominous/cryptic brief messages, all containing the polite request of "Please", either in the first or second word of the message.

Below is a further communication, postmarked Williamsport PA 177 PM 23 APR 1981, bearing a pre-printed address. The accompanying handwritten note began "You shall die I'm going to..." The postage-paid envelope was used by a company to distribute literature to its prospective customers. The distribution was made from the New York office of the company because it was printed in red ink. The company retained a list of individuals who received such an envelope, however, no suspects have been formally identified in the matter. The name "Bobby Doe" had been added over the erased return address on the face of the envelope, while the reverse side of the envelope carried a threat to President Ronald Reagan. This communication was reminiscent of the threat to kill Jimmy Carter in a suspected Zodiac letter postmarked June 8th 1977, and "You shall die I'm going to..." similar to the beginning of the October 17th 1970 card, stating "The Zodiac is going to". I am unsure whether the crosshairs on the second page below were sourced from the original letter, but a curious addition nonetheless, bearing in mind the two Zodiac crosshairs added to the March 8th 1981 Atlanta letter, one of which was present on the envelope.

Williamsport, Pennsylvania is approximately 160 miles from New York and Washington, which featured regarding the "Daniel Please Call Home" letter and the Santa Claus card. The analysis of the letter determined that the author was probably a male, aged between 10 and 15 years. However, it is specified that the linguistic method employed is not considered a positive means of identification. Was it the scrawling childlike writing of the Zodiac Killer, akin to the scribbled Bates letters, or indeed an extremely youthful impersonator?

Fascinating , Richard , and the synopsis from the FBI appears to be honest ( ? ) . i.e. that the correspondence could be an impression of a male 10 - 15 years old .

These hoaxers with experience ( ..and the Zodiac internet has been plagued by one , for years ...) try all sorts of '' different clothes '' out for size , in the end . Child reversion being one such and , some of which we have witnessed in reading parts of the Zodiac letters .

Interesting , with '' Bobby Doe '' cause for further curiosity ( ? ) .

Thanks for finding this , and will ponder further .

Seven FBI Files on Ronald Wilson Reagan , two of which are currently locked .

Could be worth having a look ( ? ) , and since a certain '' Cipher Slayer '' hasn't been mentioned , specifically.

Had a look, not much, particularly with our relevant dates.

I'll have a '' sniff around '' when time allows , Richard , and not forget what you have posted , here . I reckon Mr.Reagan could have been in for some attention ,from the Zodiac , at some time , And , the FBI have a habit of sneaking in certain documentation , completely out of time order , sometimes .

These compulsive hoaxers tend to have motives that are never really understood , by anyone apart from specialised medical people .
I would never be surprised if the Zodiac only ever voted for a hard-line Conservative candidate , and was seen to be , and even genuinely was , the most patriotic American that one could imagine .

But , to quote Disraeli : '' Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel.''

The address of 654 Grand View Avenue on the Santa Claus card is 16 miles from Glen Ridge NJ

Richard

I'll bet that card was mailed in New York, Glen Ridge or Newark.

As I have referred many times in the past , at other sites ( ...though admittedly would do , given beliefs...) is that Newark International Airport has always been seen as the '' gateway '' to mainland America , from those people arriving from Western Europe .

Although '' long haul '' flights have existed for many years also and , quite easily facilitate '' direct destination '' journeys , it is Newark that gives the travelling passenger the choice of multiple destinations '' inside '' the USA . Plus , the city of New York , on your doorstep , which is usually a '' must see '' for Europeans .

From what I believe I have gained from Scorpion's ciphers , also , it becomes more persuading that Scorpion ( The Zodiac ) was using Newark Airport , on a fairly regular basis , in the mid-1990's .

And remember , Scorpion claimed that he was operating out of New Jersey . Why have the FBI never seem to have made any big deal about a serial killer from New Jersey , calling himself ''Scorpion '' and creating ciphers , just like the Zodiac ???

Because the Zodiac was Scorpion .

.....and of course , '' S C '' could have been part of the inspiration for the name '' SCorpion '' another 13 years later ( ? ) .

Although , more is the likelihood that the Zodiac played on the name '' Scorpio '' , who was the original nemesis of Detective Inspector Callahan , in the series of films , related to '' Dirty Harry '' .

Heriberto Seda had stolen the Zodiac 's name - so, what else was the ( San Francisco ) Zodiac supposed to do ?

There's a FBI file that mentions "A Better Life Journal" that is rather disturbing and focuses on underage gay association.

Richard, do we know what exactly was the "Better Life Journal"?

Below is the FOIA (look at p.148) that mentions why the "Better Life Journal" was abolished.

Not exactly, there were many. But the company mailing address I placed above fitted the Better Life Journal envelope. I know however, there were "Better Life Journal's" subsequent to 1985 and 1986. The one you have presented is also interesting. The envelope could have been distributed via newspapers, just like the model car envelopes.

Interesting with the apparent use of quotation marks , in the March 8th Atlanta letter .

The Zodiac has opened quotation marks at :

'' certain clues...

and :

'' pick off....

But , has failed to close quotation marks in both cases .

That Atlanta letter is such absolute bullshit. Not even worth putting up on your site, Richard. But I've always respected your integrity of investigating all hints towards the Zodiac.
