See A Name: Me,  I am A Pig...

12/20/2015

This article was written by Alex Lewis (Welsh Chappie), whose own site detailing Zodiac suspect Lawrence Kane, can be found here.

The 340 Cipher sent by Zodiac is still Officially classified as 'Unsolved.' And, despite numerous claimed decryptions from various people, none have got the Universal nod of approval from The Cryptologists. So for this post and this post alone, let's not overlook Robert Graysmith simply because, He's Robert Graysmith. Yes, much He has said seems to be clearly strewn with error, incorrect fact reporting and outright apparent non truths.

However, for this post let's remember He has seemingly been spot on in other claims made, claims we all dismissed as 'No evidence in support of...' rubbish. But He always declared Stine Picked Zodiac up, specifically, outside The Westin St. Francis and, according to Harvey Hines, this was absolutely the pick up point as told to Him by none other than Insp. Toschi.

So, Below is an excerpt of R.G's claimed decoded 340 message:
Picture

As is shown above, the top line can be read 'SEE A NAME' which is followed by 5 letters 'BWEOL' a clear anagram of 'BELOW. '
At the final E in 'SEE A NAME' if you drop down one line, you should now be on the letter 'M.' Starting there, moving diagonally to the right, M s followed by E to spell 'ME.' Then after the E in Me, move back up one line and you will land on 'I.' After I, move diagonal again to M to spell 'I'M' after which move one line back up to 'A' and so on until you'll see this message: SEE A NAME, ME, I'M A PIG.

Also, Top Line, Sixteenth Letter: S. Red downward rather than to right and it is SGT, move right EAT....or E.T.A?

I am totally unconvinced by Robert Graysmith's decryption but I feel he doesn't receive the credit he fully deserves. He was largely responsible for keeping this case alive in the public sphere and understandably made errors in his eagerness and enthusiasm. He also exaggerated certain claims in his pursuit of Zodiac which did him no favours, but he kept the case on the map and all that has followed since. The four crimes of Zodiac have been analyzed to death, and we all have made assumptions on each crime and I think a lot of these assumptions may be wrong. Unfortunately many, if not all of the crime scenes were inadequately handled, mainly due to poor forensic techniques, as well as a fair bit of incompetence and hence the constant debating on the likely order of events. The Lake Herman Road is point in case, accepting that the Rambler was found facing east. The photographs disprove this 100%, but everybody just accepts this as fact, because it has been passed down as fact for 47 years and nothing will ever change this widely held misconception. We all have beliefs guided by incomplete facts and Presidio Heights is one such example. It has become accepted that the murder happened at Washington and Cherry, but the Washington and Maple murder is equally viable, the facts don't bear down on either one 100%, but has become a passed on as fact throughout the last 47 years almost unquestioned. All things rely on a constant, time, blood pattern analysis relies on time and gravity, and witness accounts rely on timelines. These have to be questioned to unearth the true course of events if at all possible.

This is commonly seen it seems Rich and I myself don't personally feel the same but I can see why others may do. What am I speaking of specifically? The reluctance to question the official version, or non willingness to accept even the concept that the Authorities would wilfully misrepresent facts and situational events even when it's completely in their best and own interest to do so.

It's a case of "Well if Napa Sheriff said it then it must be true" to use Napa Sheriffs as a random example. Or to point to a real life example and argument to my accusing SFPD of deliberately concealing evidence and/or information crucial to the night itself, one person argued "The SFPD did not cover up the encounter with a WMA, nor did they lie or misrepresent it, they simply did not say anything of it neither admit nor deny."

Well in the UK, any one unfortunate to find themselves under arrest will be informd of their rights, part of which are read as "You do not HAVE TO SAY ANYTHING, HOWEVER, IT MAY HARM YOUR DEFENSE IF YOU FAIL TO MENTION NOW WHEN QUESTIONED, SOMETHING THAT YOU MAY LATER RELY ON IN COURT."

In other words if you don't state the truth to something immediately and at trial it's discovered then your character and believability may be severely questioned.

A Law Maxim states "Let He that is being deceived, be Deceived" and that, for a Law Maxim, seems odd and out of place.

What it is declaring here is if you simply accept a thing at face value as told to you, and do so without questioning it nor doing ones own investigation or fact checking that of which has been told, then if that thing told is false and deceptive in nature and it deceives the listener, then let the receiver be deceived due to His/Her own reluctance to do any fact checking.

It's similar to the Legal Maxim relating to commerce: "Let the buyer beware" meaning if your purchasing A Car for example, the onus and responsibility is on you as the buyer to make sure that everything is as it should be and not just believe the salesman who tells you He's selling this 2015 Audi TTS, 7,000 miles on the clock, for $14,500, retail price $51,500, because He's a nice man. The law itself tells you that in order not to be the victim of deception, whether that deception be for the purposes of gaining money, or to conceal a truth, it's up to you the person to make sure and check that what is being sold to you by a 3rd party, is what that 3rd party is advertising it as.
If it isn't, you buy it and later get pulled over and informed that the car you legitimately bought is a stolen vehicle on a false cloned plate, the cops will and do repossesses that vehicle and return it to it's rightful owner and you, the legit and honest purchaser of it 3 weeks previous, are now tens of thousands of dollars shorter and have no car to show for it. Hence: Let the buyer beware.
